Typing speed test (WPM)
Measure your words per minute and accuracy.
How to use: typing speed test (wpm)
Type the words that appear as fast as you can for 30 or 60 seconds. When time is up you will see your words per minute (WPM), your accuracy and the words you got right and wrong. Your best score is saved in your browser so you can try to beat it. The average person types 35 to 45 WPM; above 70 WPM is considered very fast.
How are words per minute calculated?
The letters of correctly typed words (including spaces) are counted, divided by 5, the length of a standard “word”, and scaled to one minute.
What is a good typing speed?
The average is 35 to 45 WPM. Over 60 WPM is good, and over 90 WPM is within reach of trained typists.
